As mentioned in my prior post…
It’s fascinating to observe which images people are attracted to.
Expanded my print selections at ‘Celebration of Old Roses’ this year by bringing other flowers besides roses, along with some fruit & veggie prints. Half the images purchased this year were from these “other” categories.
‘Dawn’s Brew’ is an unusually dramatic, high contrast, image with the calla cup glowing against the dark undulating curves of its leaves. Caught this photo in my backyard, when for a few moments, the morning sun filled the pink rimmed calla lily with light. A new customer from San Francisco bought a small print as a gift for a friend.

Another image that attracted several compliments was ‘Crabapple Blossom & Bud.’ It was developed from a much larger photo of a flowering branch taken at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in New York. My sister lives in Brooklyn. She and I enjoy going to the gardens together to admire the wonderful plants and beautiful garden design. A print of this image was purchased by a new East Bay client.
Took two framed prints to hang on the wall behind the table, adding some drama and interest to my display this year.

One was ‘Star of Yelta’ Heirloom Morning Glory and the other was of a lovely Lavender-hued Old Garden Rose from Vintage Gardens in Sebastopol CA – one of the popular vendors of the show. Have a new customer request for a print of ‘Star of Yelta,’ so need to get that order together.

This stunning old garden rose is grown by Gregg Lowery & Phillip Robinson in their marvelous collection of antique & extraordinary roses.
My last sale of the day to my customer-friend (who won the HRG raffle) was the same image ‘Empress of India’ Nastursiums & Zinna, I gifted our Indian hosts, Sumant Bakshi & Sheila (Reetu) Singh, for their hospitality.
